The Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House was built in 1855 by John Stiles Holliday. Mr Holliday was the uncle of the western gambler John Henry "Doc" Holliday. Today, the home operates as a museum and is open to the public!

In addition to the history Fayetteville offers, the town also has activities such as Lake Horton, the Southern Ground Amphitheater, Pinewood Studios, movie locations and so much more!!!  

Downtown Fayetteville offers shops, local restaurants, a radio station, convenient parking and hosts numerous events, year round! 

 Fayetteville is the home to "The Fayette County Courthouse." Built in 1825, it is the oldest surviving courthouse in Georgia. The structure is located in the center of Fayetteville's town square and today, it is the local welcome center! 

The Margaret Mitchell Library was first built in 1948 and was named in honor of the author! The new structure today, is the headquarters for the Fayette County Historical Society and stores many Civil War records.

​​​Fayetteville was founded in 1822 as the seat of the newly formed Fayette County. As of the 2010 census, there were 15,945 people, 6,006 households, and 4,264 families residing in the city. It was projected that the town's population would reach 17,991 by 2019. It will be interesting to see just how close this projection came, when the 2020 census information is released!
